 FSD Faculty Jen Faucher, Artistic Director/Owner Jen has been involved in dance for 20+ years as a student, competitor, choreographer, instructor, studio director, and adjudicator. She is technically trained in all styles of concert dance and also in dance instruction and composition, starting her own original works in her early teen years. She studied dance at the University of Massachusetts and was a dancer and choreographer for Worcester State University's Dance Company. She continues her studies today with world-renowned choreographers and teachers throughout the country, such as Mia Michaels, David Howard, Sonya Tayeh, Wade Robson, and Joe Tremaine to name a few. She is the former founder, partner and director of Center Stage Dance Studio (Cherry Valley) where she taught all forms of dance and choreographed for the studio's competitive dance team for several years. Jen's choreography has been specially awarded and recognized several times for its affectivity, versatility, and style. Jen instructs dance classes for students at Worcester State University as well. Additionally, she was a varsity cheerleading coach and choreographer and has prepared prospective New England Patriots' Cheerleaders for their audition. She is also a choreographer for the Stylized Movement Dance Company and is a talent adjudicator for dance competitions and pageants throughout New England.
Conceived and established in June 2009, Jen is very enthusiastic and proud of the Faucher School of Dance and is excited to share her joy and knowledge of performing arts with others. She teaches all forms of dance for all ages at the school. She is committed to providing a diverse dance education by collaborating with guest artists to further her students' dance education even more. Community projects and awareness are extremely important to the school. Jen has been involved with the Molly Bish Foundation, providing safety events at the studio for the children in the community, and also founded the annual William J Humphrey Jr. Memorial Benefit Performance with all proceeds donated to Why Me/Sherry's House of Worcester, a non-profit organization managed by families who have had a child with cancer and wish to help others who now face the same devastating challenge. Additionally, she offers her time at the Worcester Boys & Girls Club to teach dance to younger children. She is also involved with several other charity events and organizations, together with students.
Jen graduated magna cum laude and Psi Chi from Worcester State University where she earned a B.S. in Psychology. She was also nominated for the University's Community Service Award.
Jen resides in Paxton with her loving partner and husband, Josh and their beautiful pups, Tinkerbell & Mia.
*CPR/AED & First Aid certified; educated in dance health & injury prevention Jess Primeau, Instructor Jess has been dancing for over 25 years, having studied under Clyde Nantais, Christine Carlson, and Anne-Marie Carlomagno. She competed as a local and national award-winning dancer. She was a member, dancer, choreographer, and President of the Worcester State College Dance Company and Coach of the Dance Team. She was a past member of Center Stage Dance Studio’s highly decorated competitive adult team and continues her dance training with various professionals to include Mia Michaels & Brian Friedman. She also continues her ballet education with Boston Ballet. Her choreography has been specially awarded at dance competitions and her students have been invited to prestigious dance conventions throughout the country. Jess is FSD's Ballet Mistress and also instructs Lyrical, Jazz & Tap for both Company and recreational students. Amanda Karalus, Instructor Native of Worcester, MA, Amanda has been dancing for over 20 years receiving her early dance training from Sally Heaney, Caitlin Foley, and Nichola Johnson. She is formally trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, pointe, and hip hop. She spent 8 years as a regional and national award winning performer and soloist and was a multiple scholarship recipient of Dance Educators of America. Amanda was a member of the Breakin Through Dance Company of northern Connecticut and was an assistant choreographer with Break a Leg Productions, a youth theater company also of Connecticut. Additionally, she was a member of the New England Surge Dance Team, a semi-professional indoor arena football team. Amanda continues her dance education today by taking master classes with professionals such as Mia Michaels, Sonya Tayeh, and Wade Robson to name a few. Her work has been specially awarded and recognized at dance competitions. She instructs jazz, lyrical, hip hop and technique classes at Faucher for both recreational and Company students, and also assists with production works. Amanda loves sharing her passion and love of dance with each student she meets! Laurie Lebeau, Instructor Laurie has been a gymnastics coach for the past twenty years in both dance schools and gyms, including the Gymnastics Learning Center of Shrewsbury. She has coached at both recreational and competitive levels. Laurie received her coach’s training and safety certification through the United States Gymnastics Federation, and is CPR/First Aid certified. Laurie is also employed by the Auburn School system as an ABA. She instructs acrobatics/tumbling at the studio. Deanna Cook, Teacher Assistant Deanna was a dancer for Jen Faucher’s former adult dance team and also acts as Jen’s right hand during recital time. Deanna studied Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop for 17 years under the direction of Deborah Mason. She received her B.S. from Bentley College in Computer Information Systems and her Master’s Degree from Bentley in Information Technology. She is the original creator of FSD’s web site and assists several classes at the studio. Rachel Shuster, Choreographer Rachel's love for dance and performance began at the age of three where she spent 11 years studying dance at Charlotte Klein Dance Centers in Worcester. Rachel studied ballet, tap and jazz, and competed and placed in several dance competitions. Then joining the Performing Arts School of Worcester, Rachel began studying hip hop with Jennifer Agbay. Rachel has also performed in productions of Once Upon a Mattress, Patience, Oliver, The Music Man and served as choreographer and dancer in productions of West Side Story and Godspell. A choreographer for 4 years for the Worcester State College Dance Company, Rachel also served as Vice President and President. A four year member of Worcester State College's Chorale, Rachel choreographed numbers for the a cappella group that has toured Poland, Czech Republic, Greece and the Greek Isles. Rachel was a two year member of Center Stage Dance Studio's adult dance team. Currently an Associate Editor for TechTarget in Newton and Writer/Columnist for the Pulse Magazine in Worcester, Rachel is ecstatic to join the FSD family as a Company choreographer! Katelyn O’Leary, Choreographer Katelyn was a former student, competitive dancer and soloist, and teacher assistant of Jen Faucher’s, and also studied under Joan Sheary and Jen Wickson. Katelyn was also a member of Notre Dame Academy’s Dance Ensemble in high school where she performed in many recitals. She is currently a dance major at Keene State College with her main focus on Modern dance, technique, choreography, and dance history. She has also had the opportunity to study abroad in Spain. She was recently invited to dance for Monica Bill Barnes, director of a professional contemporary dance company. Katelyn teaches special classes in Modern & Lyrical and is a choreographer for the Dance Company.
